Internet Marketing Experts’ Accurate Prediction of Obama’s Victory

most successful inbound marketing campaign barack obamaPrior to November 6, 2012 US elections, internet marketing experts had already predicted that Obama would win the election.  Although, there were also prior election and public opinion polls conducted where political wonks had based their prediction for Obama’s win, but the prediction for Obama’s success was based on how his camp marketeted his candidacy over the internet.

Obama won the election. But how did the internet marketing experts analyze and accurately predict his election?

While the science of conducting pre election surveys has time and again proved to be efficient, the overarching internet presence as strategized by Barack Obama’s camp was the tangible manifestation of his winnability.

Internet marketing specialists saw the strong internet marketing campaign of Obama as a great and important factor for his success as compared with Romney.  His was the most successful internet campaign ever that produced overwhelming numbers of followers.

On the eve before the election, the online figures showed that in Paid Search Advertisement, Obama was estimated to be spending about $4.4 thousand to $13.1 thousand per day on Google Search, while Romney was estimated to be spending about $3.4 thousand to $6.3 thousand per day.  Although those figures were just estimates based on traffic and cost per click estimates, but the difference is quite big.  Obama was obviously spending up to twice as much as Romney’s on Google SearchAdvertising.

As a result, Obama obtained over 8.6 million viewers compared to Romney’s 2.6 million.  That’s over three times bigger the number of website traffic compared to his opponent.  It really pays to advertise, isn’t it?

On Facebook, the day before election, Obama has 31 million LIKES while has Romney 11 million.  That was nearly three times as many Facebook fans as compared to his Republican opponent.

As to their Twitter followers, Obama has almost 22 million while  Romney has only 1.6 million.  That was more than 13 times over than that of his rival.

On YouTube, Barack Obama has 9 times as many subscribers and viewers compared to Romney.

Obama indeed won the election as the President of the United States. No doubt, his success to  become the most powerful person in the US is attributed to the most successful internet marketing campaign ever.

Of course, the Obama internet marketing strategy can be replicated and can be applied in the internet business world. We are sure that you also want to be successful in your internet campaign.  But the challenge is how? How to create and effective internet marketing campaign similar to Obama’s?  Interestingly, the Obama internet marketing campaign is similar to inbound marketing campaigns in the internet business environment.

Tomorrow we will publish a blog article that will discuss the 5 important aspects on how to create an effective inbound marketing campaign just like what Obama did during his successful internet marketing campaign.
